一、學(xué)院介紹

南京大學(xué)地球科學(xué)與工程學(xué)院是中國歷史最悠久、培養(yǎng)人才最多的地學(xué)專業(yè)院系之一。歷經(jīng)百年發(fā)展，學(xué)科方向全、綜合實力強、國際影響顯著，在教育部歷次學(xué)科評估中均名列前茅：第三輪學(xué)科評估中，地質(zhì)學(xué)并列第一；第四輪學(xué)科評估中,地質(zhì)學(xué)并列A+；“地質(zhì)學(xué)”和“礦業(yè)工程”入選國家“雙一流”建設(shè)學(xué)科。

學(xué)院堅持“走向現(xiàn)代化、走進社會、走出地球”的發(fā)展理念，面向科學(xué)前沿、國家需求和社會挑戰(zhàn)，推動學(xué)科交叉融合，構(gòu)建新型學(xué)科體系，努力實現(xiàn)“國內(nèi)領(lǐng)先，國際一流，南大特色”的發(fā)展目標。目前學(xué)院包括地球與行星科學(xué)系、水科學(xué)系、地質(zhì)工程與信息技術(shù)系，擁有一支約120人的高水平教師隊伍，其中包括6位中國科學(xué)院院士和約50位國家級高層次人才。學(xué)院擁有內(nèi)生金屬礦床成礦機制研究國家重點實驗室、表生地球化學(xué)教育部重點實驗室、關(guān)鍵地球物質(zhì)循環(huán)教育部前沿科學(xué)中心等多個科研平臺以及國家級地球科學(xué)教學(xué)示范中心，與國內(nèi)外幾十所大學(xué)和研究機構(gòu)建立了長期的人才培養(yǎng)和科研合作關(guān)系，具有較強的國際影響力。

二、招聘崗位設(shè)置

南京大學(xué)地球科學(xué)與工程學(xué)院面向全球招聘優(yōu)秀青年人才，本次原則上招聘準聘助理教授，有特別優(yōu)秀的可以應(yīng)聘準聘副教授。崗位總數(shù)不超過4個，其中準聘副教授崗位不超過1個。研究方向包括：

Tenure-track Faculty Positions in School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Nanjing University, China

I. About the School

The history of School of Earth Sciences and Engineering at Nanjing University can be traced back to 1921, the earliest department of geology in China. After one century development, it has become a leading interdisciplinary center for high education and research in Earth Sciences. It consists of Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Department of Water Sciences, Department of Geological Engineering and Information. Today, it is the home of about 120 faculty members, including 6 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and about 50 national high-level professors. Our colleagues have made a lot of achievements, such as the First Prize for the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize for the National Natural Science Award. In the China Discipline Evaluation, School of Earth Sciences and Engineering ranked No. 1  in geology in the third round, and A+ in the fourth round. Geology and Mining Engineering were selected in the national "Double First-Class" construction plan.

In addition, the school hosts the State Key Laboratory for Mineral Deposits Research, Key Laboratory of Surficial Geochemistry, and Frontiers Science Center for Critical Earth Material Cycling, Ministry of Education. These research platforms provide many the state-of-arts facilities and welcome joint research projects to scientists around the world. The school encourages innovation and research quality. With focus on science frontiers, national needs and societal challenges, the school promotes interdisciplinary research and high education, and aims to build a new discipline system of earth sciences. It has established long-term cooperation and exchange relationships with dozens of universities and institutions around the world.

II. Description of Openings

The School of Earth Sciences and Engineering at Nanjing University invites applications for four tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenure-track Associate Professor positions (Associate Professor positions no more than 1) in the following fields:

(1) Critical Mineral Resources;

(2) Mineral & Mining Engineering;

(3) Tectonics & Geodynamics.

III. Conditions for Application

The applicant should

(1)abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and have a passion for teaching and research;

(2)abide by the ethics of teachers, uphold academic integrity, be willing to work diligently, and have no criminal record or record in breaching the ethics of teachers and/or academic integrity;

(3)have a first-rate background in academic training—specifically, a PhD in relevant disciplines, experience in studying and/or working at first-rate teaching and research institutions, and knowledge of the latest international trends and development in the relevant research field(s);

(4)have outstanding teaching abilities—the applicant should be able to teach core and frontline courses in the corresponding discipline, and have sound teaching methodology and strong verbal skills;

(5)demonstrate outstanding research output and potential—the applicant should have publications in his/her field of research, original ideas about relevant fields of research, a clear vision about future research plans, and good potential for further academic development;

(6) The age of candidates for assistant professor is younger than 35 in principle.

V. Compensation Package and Support

A successful applicant will be provided with:

(1)An annual salary (to be worked out individually);

(2)A start-up fund for research;
